I have too much going on in real life. I can't do my job, raise my kids, be a good wife, battle illness and put up with some of the annoying crap that happens on dA. So I am letting go of dA. My account will remain active. Some art is stored. Some art is free. And some is still for sale as prints. The rest is either here for 'educational purposes' or just because. So whatever. Check my gallery for the folders that will explain it all.
Yes, I will complete my judging and prize offer for the Super Sue OC Contest. However, I have left all my groups, unwatched everyone and thing, and I am closing my senshi group SignatureSenshi. Once I have uploaded those prizes, I won't be getting back on dA so comments are disabled. I can't disable comments here or notes so understand that I won't ever reply to them.

I hate being busy.
But I am all the time! Just when I think I catch a break and can do stuff on dA, life happens. I love my kids and wouldn't trade them for the world, but why does one always get sick as soon as everyone JUST gets unsick - and then make everyone sick?! Then work goes into overdrive, kids have too many school activities, spring break seems to happen every year (lol - always a surprise when it shouldn't be), the yard becomes a forest, and then a couple months pass before I can blink! Ah well, I am still alive anyway and plugging thru allergy season. We have had wicked high pollen counts here lately which have contributed to two of my kids having raging ear infections and sore throats. Sleep? Yes, that would be nice but not something a mother has the luxury of. So work, clean-up duty and pouty lips... My life right now lol.
Best ticket resolution EVER!
So, I get on today, and a report I made a while back was marked solved. I expected the resolution I got, but the admin was so epic in their phrasing that I must share it with you, "She, along with the others being deliberately antagonistic, should be blocked and ignored so that further attention isn't given to them. The only reason she is behaving in such a way is because she's getting the attention she's after." Amen miss admin, amen.
Basically, to give you some background, a bunch of users are acting like a-holes all over dA over copyright stuff and instead of making reports and blocking people like they should, they are cussing at each other and issuing threats. Some are even aggravating the situation by egging on and encouraging the people making the threats. So, you can see how that response from the admin was just about as epic as it gets.

I still have to do the haunted senshi ref for Sailor-Cadet-Academy lol. Then I had hoped to do more flower senshi, but bah I say, bah! I may just call that off for a while and stick with my plan on the Hunter's Manifesto before I lose all interest in that. Anyways, no spamming of art from me right now ^^

Been Busy! Still here lol

Some New Art
I have done arts. I have been working long hours lately, so as soon as I got the time, I dove into my artwork for Sailor-Cadet-Academy. Some of you will recognize the fuku design as that of the Cadets created by MamaLantiis a while back in 2010 (I love purple). I still have one more piece to do for this group, and it is concerning the villains of the Cadet Universe. But that will have to wait until next weekend when I have time off for Easter. I had thought I would have time for it this week with these other pieces, but I was so wrong.
Some "Controversy" lulz
So, I posted this piece about two or three weeks ago now, and a few people have pointed out that I just have a poor attitude when it comes to customers (they like everything else about what I say, they just take issue with my attitude towards customers). Well, I do have an attitude about customers. This really isn't a "controversy" ... it is more me finding it funny in that people are concerned about my issues with customers despite me not offering any services on dA. So yes, I have a piss-poor attitude when it comes to people wanting to commission me which is why I don't offer commissions or other services here. Obviously, if I am going to have and display an attitude problem, it would be strangely self-defeating to offer commissions on dA. Also, I chose this particular raunchy/cartoony style that I use for dA specifically to deter people from taking my art or using it in ways I don't want. So no one would commission me anyways lol.
I have my reasons. Having had my art stolen has made me quite bitter towards many people - and it shows. I get that. I make no apologies for it. I can paint, I can do realism, I can do abstract, I can do great anatomy, and I can even do awesome dynamic backgrounds - but I won't EVER post those online again. You see, even when you commission an artist to draw you something, you DON'T own the rights to it. You just get a pretty picture to look at. But a couple girls a long while back did pay me to do some art for them from my website (long since gone). I gave them a license and they were well aware that they could not SELL or ALTER the work they bought. But they did anyway. AND they chose to also take other works of mine and alter them (they cut out all my characters from my online comic and put new word bubbles on them, slapped them on shirts, and sold them). I also had an online store which sold shirts with my characters. Some nice citizen pointed out to me what these girls were doing, so I privately notified them to take down my personal works and stop selling them. They, instead of complying, left a complaint with my site provider and my store host that I was stealing from them. Their bogus store stayed up while all my hard work came tumbling down. So I took them court (civil claims) and won.
The point is that, even though they paid for me to do an artwork of their character, they couldn't sell it or alter it. And they most certainly were not allowed to sell and alter my personal works. So yes, I have issues with copyright infringers and customers. The chip on my shoulder is huge and most likely visible from space. And this is why I submit the type of craptastic art I do online now. This is why I don't have a website anymore. And this is why I go bananas when I see copyright infringement. I will NEVER submit my best work online. I now sell all my artwork in a physical gallery in my hometown - digitally or traditionally done. It was the only way I could keep myself in business AND keep my art relatively safe.

Besides working on the villain for Sailor-Cadet-Academy, I will be focusing my attention on the Hunter's Manifesto. After the first issue of the Hunter's Manifesto is done, I will go back and probably start doodling up more Sailor Moon Epic characters.

Some New Art
So I have managed to get some art done. I am still working on the Hunter's Manifesto. A good friend of mine is letting me use one of her works to base the first edition off of, but I essentially must create each additional piece of art in the Tracing V Referencing edition by hand, one-by-one. Until then, I have submitted a piece that reflects my views (and the views of the law and many other artists) on the reality of some people's actions and the impact it makes on each of us as an artist...
Contest Results!
I am very excited. Sailor Rose placed third in the 2012 Fan Character Design Contest. There were a lot of great entries, and as you know, my style of art is not everyone's picnic. So I am very excited that my design and story were so well received!
Future...
Besides working on some Cadets and story for Sailor-Cadet-Academy, I will be focusing my attention on some contest entries, my two Sailor Moon fanstories, and the Hunter's Manifesto. I did downsize my groups. The load of having 10 groups was too much. Even 5 is getting to me, but I am carrying on with the limited time I have for personal art and dA in general.

Contest Results
I am waiting on the results for an OC contest I entered Sailor Rose and Epic Sailor Moon into. At any rate, the results for the contest should be available January 21 or 22. I hope I place. Some awesome prizes! I don't enter contests often, but eh, whatever. This one just spoke to me and was a lot of fun to do. So even if I don't win anything, it will still have been completely worthwhile.
Coming Art
So, I am working on a Sailor Cadet. An actual Sailor Cadet, not a remake of an old senshi or anything. It is for the Sailor Cadet group I admin in. Stuff is starting to roll there, so I must stop procrastinating. Then all the other art I have been procrastinating on like Sailor Rose's alternate colors, my Pokemon trainer (that I still haven't finished sketching), and of course, more characters from my Epic Sailor Moon Saga. I have lots of other ideas too, but those may have to wait until I get my mojo back. My tablet is broken (my fault) so I am using a mouse now which takes me 3 times as long to do art.
Groups
So I said I would be downsizing my groups and I meant it. I went from 8 groups to 5 as an admin. I will not be an admin in any more than that period. I am at my limit for sure. Although the groups I am part of now are very important to me and take up a lot of my time.
The Hunter's Manfesto
So, a couple people here and there in some groups have contacted me with this awesome idea for a series of educational documents on, basically, copyright law and how it pertains to dA. Since most of us used to be or are still acting as "hunters" on dA and other sites, we chose to call it the Hunter's Manifesto. The first edition in the planning stages is Tracing versus Referencing. We hope to be able to release two or three volumes each year until we feel that we have covered every possible topic, excuse, complaint, etc.
